Taking the Lake Shore Ltd--->Cal Zephyr Boston-Oakland in a couple weeks.
I've never taken my scanner before, but will for this trip. Can someone
post some of the freqs for along the route?
Thanks

| I have the police call radio guide with all the freq for the
North East Vol 1. Gets you from New England to the other end of New
York state. There is 9 volumns for the whole US. I can give you a few
of the main ones for Amtrak and Conrail or send you the two sheets
covering the North East. What I do with my scanner is keep the main
ones but have the ability to scan a range of freq's and wait for a hit.
The freq I put in the scanner are from about 160.185 to 161.565 .
The Canadian roads use some of the lower freq's. and I get those
when in Buffalo area. Most roads in the NE are in the range of
160.245 to 161.460. Amtrak road is 160.800 and 160.920. Sometimes
on 161.070. Conrail also uses 160.800, Road channel 1.

re .13
thanks again for those frequencies. 160.8 was the freq for most of the trip
from BOS-CHI and back. West of Chicago it was tough to nail down where they
were, though a helpful conductor or 2 set me straight a couple times as well
as another scanner listening passenger. One rather entertaining conversation
I heard had to do with an intoxicated passenger in the lounge car on the LSL,
and the conductor's request for the "Elkhart's finest" to meet us at the
station. The train pulled in and sure enough, there were to officers to
meet the train.
