    	I'm looking for a method to sense if a tape drive supports
    data compression [VMS:==Data compaction] similar to:
    
    if f$getdvi(P1,"devdepend2") .and. 2097152) .eq. 2097152
    
    but on Tz88/Tz87 off a HSD10.


    	This will be part of generic site backup procedure.
