| You need something to send a Ready Inport command to get the
library to get it to turn on the button. Networker may have
something, though it could be under documented. mcutil that
is part of the CLC kit may have an option as well. Finally
V1.1 of MRU has the "ready" command and it may work in the
bare ATL version of the library.
Our most recent firmware for the TL820 family versions of the
library has an option to turn the button on all the time. You
might see if ATL has merged this feature back into their own
firmware stream.

| You don't state which version of NetWorker is in use so I
can't give an exact answer. We have modified NetWorker
to handle the IOD enable for the "DEC TL820".
If the deivce is reporting as an "ACL 2640" our fix will not
work. NetWorker 4.2a has code for the ATL to enable the input
and have the operator press return when the tape is in the port.
This could only work if they selected "ATL/Odetics SCSI". Since
we don't support this device this has not been tested.
Our libraries have a new firmware version (MUSL) that allows the port
to be permantly enabled. Your customer may need to check with
Odetics to see if they have the same feature available.

| Sorry I didn't have the version of Legato at the time of this note.
DECunix is 4.0b and NSR is 4.2b.
I have also given this location to the guy that lives with this
device. He can fill in the blanks I miss as he knows the software.
Hi Brian!!
Thanks again
