A customer wants a tape subsystem with the following characteristics:

1) Bar code reader
2) Random tape load/access
3) Capacity og 140 Gbytes (without compression)

Is TL81x the lowest option that Digital has?

	At the moment, yes. A TZ887 usign CompacTape IV would meet the capacity and random access request, but not the barcode. 3rd parties may have small DLT based units with bar-code readers, but software support could be a problem. Of course, this could change by summer, so check with the product manager for the libraries and loaders, to see what might be coming...
