I have a customer that is complaning that our tapes are no good.
He has a tlz07 on an alphaserver 400/233 running vms 6.2.
Sometimes after a few uses, he get the following error trying to
intialize some of the tapes.
INIT-F-PARITY, PARITY ERROR.
He is not able to reuse the tape at this point.
During the week I have installed the ALPSCSI02_v70 and told him the
correct method for cleaning the unit per stars articles.
Since that time we have tried to reinitialize a "bad" tape and still
get the same error as stated above.
Do I need to order new tapes for him???
Thanks

1. File an IPMT
2. Keep track of the tape lot #'s.
3. Try new tapes from a different lot.
It's possible that there is a bad lot of tape out there, but we can't
tell without customer feedback.

I will try to get that information today. I am also checking to see if
the SCSI patch might stop the problem from occuring again.
Thanks
