It appears that NO changes needed are to be made. The ATL will operate the
exact same as the TL826 would the only difference is the drive will
respond as a DLT4000 vs TZ88.
To this end, we could support this unit and replace the drives as
needed (when they fail) to tz88 drives. With full knowledge that the
kernel will need to be rebuilt as a drive is replaced.
Is the above statement correct??????
Thanks

| Use of the ATL library with NetWorker on DIGITAL UNIX is unsupported.
We have not tested with the firmware from ATL, we have qualified
the device with the Digital's firmware. We would not expect
any problems with compatability but if there are the customer
may need to get thier support from ATL (who got paid for the
thing anyway).
Replacing Quantum drives in an ATL library with Digital's drives
is a sure way to get a configuration that nobody has seen. I
would strongly recomend not doing that.
I don't know why the kernel would ever have to be rebuilt because
of hardware changes unless you add new adaptors on an pre 4.0
system.

And don't call engineering or log IPMT case if you have problem. We're
not supporting that configuration.
