The product description for the TZ88X refers to "tape mark directories to minimize data access time". Can you explain what this means and whether any of our tape software products take advantage of it ?? Thx, Dave Rifkin

It keeps track of where tape marks are, so when you space filemarks the drive will try to get there as fast as it can (skip tracks). New MKDriver on OVMS 7.1 claims to use skip filemark rather than skip records as the older method. On SW application, I'll leave that reponse to SW group. T. | |||||
