3434.10 | Bad PTM!!!! | ACISS2::STOUGHTON | | Thu Feb 27 1997 13:51 | 16 |
| I have inspected this ATL drive and found that the PTM was bad from day
one. It would take the tape and try to create a hole in the right hand
side of the cabinet! Smacked it pretty good.
The previous service provider replaced the PTM and all is ok with the
unit.
We should have a 2100 here shortly for testing to see if the DLT4000
drives will work with DECunix.
In the event of a tape failure (provided this works,) a tz88 drive
will replace the failed drive until all drives are replaced. ( This
could take several years.)
Thanks
Gregg

3434.11 | are you still going to be running with NSR? | DECWET::LENOX | Why is DECdirect so out of date? | Thu Feb 27 1997 17:37 | 7 |
|
Currently we only test NSR against the firmware that
Digital produces for those tape libraries. It should
probably work, it is just a question of support if
it doesn't.
just curious...
