113.0. "How to ignore Break (Quit) inside a korn shell script?" by NETRIX::"[email protected]" (Feynman Lo) Sun Jan 26 1997 21:54
Hi,
I am new to shell programming. But I am now supporting
a customer who experiencing problem when she tried to
avoid quiting to the command prompt from inside the shell
script, caused by the Break(F5) initiated by their users
using terminal emulators.
She is running Digital Unix. She tried stty with '-isig'
& 'ignbrk' but it didn't work.
From a topic in Digital_unix it mentioned that in order
to achieve this, we must make use of a restricted shell.
Is it only running a restricted korn shell can do so?
We got no experience of using a restricted shell. What
should be done regarding the restricted shell in order to meet
the customer's requirement? (Just /usr/bin/ksh -r ??)
Also where (books or pointers) can I read the details of
restricted shelll programming?
Any suggestions?
Feynman
