Anyone heard any news about the line up for the Newport Jazz Festival
this year??

How about Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, George Benson, Rachelle
Ferrell, and Don Byron and the Bug Music band. Not to mention the
Zawinal Syndicate, Gato Barbieri, and Ray Charles. AND, if that don't
get yer groove goin' there's Liquid Soul, and the Brooklyn Funk
Essentials. PLUS fri nite at the casino has a tribute to my fave "The
DIZ" with Jon Faddis, Nicholas Payton, and Clark Terry, pluse Tito
Puente and ther vocalist India. In short a Jazz lovers delight! B there

thanks for the reply. I've seen most of the artists at past jazz
festivals, but can't wait to see them again!! Never heard of some of
them. Can't wait to see Zawinal Syndicate!
And the tribute to "The Diz" sounds fantastic!!

I received my flyer from JVC for the Newport Jazz festival this
weekend. Unfortunately, I didn't bring it in today. The lineup that
SUBSYS::CAMERA mentioned is for Saturday. Liquid Soul and the Brooklyn
Funk Essentials are for Saturday night at a local hotel.
Sunday's line up I can't remember completely, but I remeber that it
does include Ray Charles and Dianne Reeves, two of my favorites. This
will be the 3rd time I've seen Ray Charles at the festival. Awesome!!
