I have been getting "Error connecting to Quote Server" since last week when
trying to access http://www.nyo.dec.com/info/stockquote.html . This is the
official link given at http://homepage.das.dec.com/employee-infocenter.html ,
the "Employee InfoCenter." Others having the same experience?

[BTW, the page http://hndymn.zko.dec.com/quote_v1.html contains the outdated
link http://www.crl.dec.com/Digital/home.html . I believe this should be
updated to http://homepage.das.dec.com/ or
http://homepage.das.dec.com/employee-infocenter.html .]

    We gave up on the DECnet version on Digital UNIX. Host lookups just
    kept getting worse and worse. We switched over to the UDP version for
    http://www.see.mro.dec.com/stock.cgi and haven't had a problem since.

Just a note.  

The quote_v1 servershas exceeded 1 million requests either  today or yesterday. 
The servers have been running for almost 92 days using a total of ~6 minutes of
CPU for the DECnet version and 3:30 for the UDP version.

Also, the system will be unavailable thisweekend as they replace air-handlers
in the zk2 facility (actually - this is only one of steps that will be required
to replace the units).

Fixed - The page was give a face lift in the process.

I also sent mail to "Stan" who is listed at the bottom of that nyo.dec.com page
for stockquote - no respose.

    been repaired.  Sorry for the delay, but I'm not sure we have a real

It appears that the auto feed is broken today - maybe it shuts itself 
down on April 1st (because of what has happened in the past!).

Anyway, I threw a 2:45 quote at it.  Not good news either (down 1).

I noticed that VTX STOCK is not working either today (probably related to -.1).
Looking at Computer Stocks at DBC shows mostly red today...

The Dow is also headed down on interest rate fears, so it's not just tech (or
DEC) that's down today.

VTX Stock is also fed by the same process that feeds quote_v1.  I sent off
mail to let them know it was not working.

This weekend - the zko facility will be "powered down".  

Quote will be off line until early Monday morning.  There are a fair number of
people out there who feel a need to retrieve the quote all weekend long even 
though they know the market is closed and it isn't going to change.

    Does Trayquote run over the weekend? If so, then that's probably the

    Trayquote doesn't know about weekdays vs weekends! I'm really busy
    currently so I'm not sure I'll get time to add this option. I'd be
    interested to crack the larger issue of how to set a default time
    regardless of which Timezone the user is in?
