Four young couples are found dead in similar circumstances and Dr. Scarpetta 
cannot discover the cause of death.

"Cruel and Unusual" Published 1993, the fourth Scarpetta book.  Dr. Scarpetta
is emboriled in a grisly case involving a recently executed murderer whose 
fingerprints turn up at a new crime scene.

"The Body Farm" Published 1994, the fifth in the series.  In rural North 
Carolina,  the brutal murder of an eleven-year-old has shaken a small town, 
but more disturbing is the fact that the details are all-too reminiscent of the

"From Potter's Field" Published 1995,  sixth in series.  Temple Gault, sadistic
serial killer, strikes again on Christmas Eve. Worse, he seems to have fixated
on Scarpetta and appears to be trying to impress her with his crimes.
