2165.0. "Vet in Upton/Mendon/Hopkington area?" by OBSESS::BOLTON (Akita Friends of New England) Tue Feb 04 1997 11:34

We're searching for a new vet.

We live in Upton, MA. So, something in Hopkington, Westboro, Milford,
    Mendon, etc. would be great.

Yes, we are right near Tufts Vet Hospital but the problem we have with
them is...we would be seeing a different doctor each time. We would
also love it if this vet has experience with akitas.

    Thanks,
    Carol

Try Mendon Animal Hospital (vet is Holly Fabricotti)...it's on Rt. 16
on the side of Mendon towards Uxbridge. We have used her for a number of
years (2 labs, 2 cats) and find she is professional and she loves
animals. I believe Holly is a Tufts graduate.
We also have used Milford Animal Hospital (vet is Richard Heller) - on
Rt 140 right over the Upton line into Milford -
again very professional with a very nice office (waiting room is nicer
than my doctors office!, glass enclosed operating room). Dr. Heller is
a Cornell graduate (one of the, if not the best, vet programs)
We switched from Milford to Mendon primarily for cost reasons, and we
like Holly's manner with our animals. However, the cost differences by
    this time may be minor.
However, I believe Dr. Heller has the facilities to handle more serious
cases that Dr. Fabricotti might routinely refer to Tufts.
We have had to use both vets for off-hours, emergency reasons - both
made immediate arrangements to meet us at the office.
