I was wondering what peoples opinions are regarding the number of
times a day to feed a dog.
I don't want to free feed due to training purposes and was told
puppies should be fed 3 to 4 times a day. At what age is it ok
to go to two times a day?
Due to work schedules we're currently feeding our 4 1/2 month old
Bassett 3 times a day, but the 2nd and 3rd meals are usually pretty
close together (about 4 hours).
Current schedule: 1st meal - 5am
2nd meal - 2:30pm
3rd meal - 6-6:30
I'd like to go to 2 meals ( 5am and 3 or 4pm)
Any opinions?

I like your current schedule...remember puppies still have small
stomachs and lot's of energy. You could wean the pup off the middle
meal by decreasing the amt. fed. If the pup still seems hungry then
you could try a snack before bedtime rather than increasing the amt.
you feed in the two main meals.
FWIW I have always fed two meals to my dogs.
