OK - here it is!!! The 7th annual pick-some-guys-and-follow-them
NCAA Basketball Tournament contest. With our continued reduced numbers
at Digital, I'm cross-posting this in the ::SPROTS file and here, but
I'll maintain one master list of entries. If you know somebody else who
wants in (except for Walt Ashe, of course), that's OK, too.
Here are the rules (a couple of new ones this year):
1) You pick eight players: a starting five of two forwards, a center,
and two guards, plus three subs that can play any position.
2) You can pick only one player per team.
3) You can choose only three players from teams seeded #1, or #2, but at
least one from each. So you can have one player from a #1 seed and two
from a #2 seed, or vice versa, but not three players from teams seeded #1.
The same applies to teams seeded #3 and #4 - one player from teams seeded
#3, and two players from teams seeded #4 or vice versa. That means you
must have at least two players from teams seeded #5 and beyond. If you
want to pick only one guy from a #1 seed and all the rest of your team
from teams seeded 5th and beyond, that's OK, too. You just can't pick
three players from teams seeded #1, for example.
4) You can only pick two players per conference.
5) Any player picked from a team seeded #5 or lower will receive double
points for every game that player is in the tournament.
6) Any player picked from a team seeded #10 or lower will receive TRIPLE
points!!!
7) Respond either in here or send me mail at TNPUBS::NAZZARO; entries
will be accepted until Thursday at 12:00 noon EST.
8) I will track how these players perform over the first weekend, list
the results from the opening weekend in here (hopefully Monday), and give
updates throughout the tourney.
Good luck to everyone!

>> G Charles Jones LIU Northeast #15 Nice call there Maj! 37 points plus triple word score = 111 for the tourney for Mr Jones ... The Mercers/Duncans/LaFrentz's are gonna have to go DEEP into the tourney to beat that score ... But you did miss one, you told me there were no other centers to compete with Duncan ... well, Kelvin Cato scored 29 in his opening game, and since he is a #6 seed, thats double points ... One more good game and he will be tough to top at the center spot ... Vinny | |||||

Vinny,
I got a chance to beat 111 with Anthony Johnson from College of
Charleston. He scored 17 yesterday, which is 51. Since they won he
needs to score 20 tomorrow to tie, or COC just wins the game. :^)
Nazz also has a chance with Thaddeus, from COC.

Vinny we gots to stop picking Eagles in Nazz contests. I hereby abjure
from Bostonians in general having got seriously burned by Awojobi.
My scratch pad has Freeman Williams, Brevin Knight, Austin Croshere...
Hind sight is so clear.
