6730.0. "vms version for alphaserver 300?" by UTRTSC::OOSTINDJER () Thu May 29 1997 05:46

    hello,

    Can somebody answer this question:
    what is the minimum version of vms that supports the alphaserver 300?
    (can it run on 6.2-1h3?)

Geesh, the storage folks are good and really helpful but don't you think the
VAXAXP::VMSNOTES conference would be a better place for this question?

   Yes, the AlphaServer 300 can run OpenVMS Alpha V6.2-1H3.

   In general, for questions like these, see http://webir.das.dec.com/
   (WebIR), or see the "[OpenVMS] CPU Operating System Versions and
   Release Dates Table & Flowchart" document available in COMET, and
   referenced by VAXAXP::VMSNOTES note 9.17.

   (The AlphaServer 300 product management team neglected to include this
   information in the various materials.)

   I've submitted an update to the abovementioned document, and when
   (if) it is accepted, I'll post a new copy in the area referenced
   by note 9.17.
