6645.0. "paa0 closed virtuell circuit" by HAMSUP::KOENIG () Fri May 02 1997 06:45

    Hallo,

    i have a problem with an VAX4300 HSD10-JF installation

    Configuration

    VMS 5.5-2
    VAX4300
    HSD10JA

    Disks
    2 RZ28M
    1 RF72

    Tapes
    TK70
    TZ86 external over KZQSA

    Problem:
    "PAA0 closed virtuell circuit remote node dssi0"

    This error occupied 2 to 5 times a day ,the node hangs for one minute,
    and then everything goes on.
    I have installed the HSD10 with the original installion procedure.
    Is there a known problem ?

    thanks in advance

        Use you HSD10 as a diagnostic tool. Attach a terminal and monitor the
DSSI bus. If you don't see a problem put the output here for us to look at.

        Also, you may have been shipped the wrong cables for the HSD10
attachment. Make sure you have either a DESKTOP cable= 17-04189-02 or
                                        Pedestal     = 17-04032-03

    Hallo John,

    thanks for youre reply.
    I dont know which cable i have put into the pedestal enclosure .I think
    it was a 17-04032-02 .
    The V4000-300 is a server machine in a nuklear power plant.It is not
    possible to shutdown the machine just for looking at a cable.
    They give me only one try for fixing the problem.
    So if you can say the 17-04032-xx had a problem with the paa0 circuit
    i will order the 17-04189-02.

    thanks in advance
