6609.0. "HSC Software Retirement - Late April Fool's Joke?" by NQOS01::tunsrv2-tunnel.imc.das.dec.com::Souder (Don Souder dtn 348-4933) Mon Apr 21 1997 22:11

HSC Software no longer supported? Gee, the last SPD is less than a year old.
Say it ain't so... This memo is beginning to cause A LOT of problems at one
customer - and I suspect it's just beginning.

The "cause" seems to be that Storage can no longer provide engineering support
- what's the story?

=======================================================================
<<Message: Microsoft Exchange Message>>

You have read the below notice correctly. Storage product management has
reported they are dropping support for HSC Hi Performance software. Therefore
they have given MCS notice they will no longer be providing engineering backup
support. MCS has looked at the revenue stream and determined it should move
to
the best endeavor section of mature products offer.

I am sorry to report I am not able to find a corporate solution for this
product. I have worked with Judy Photenas, the mature SPS services offer
manager. She sent me the below memo. Judy explained there is not a part
number at the corporate level for best endeavor support. Continuing to
support
a product as best endeavor is determined at the country/territory level
according to the implementation for Mature SPS offer.
