My customer has reliability problems with HSJ40s and is considering upgrading to the 50. However I need to show it is more reliable. In the UK we have shipped very few HSJ50s, so I don't have a statistically representative basis for convincing the customer. Can anybody advise me of the number shipped world wide and their failure rate. As the customer needs 12 controllers he is not prepared to give me a pile of money without some evidence of the reliability. If a reply here is inappropriate, please mail me at: [email protected] Thanks

He has IPMT's raised against battery failures which we have not been able to fix. HSJ failures have brought down the customer billing system twice (this is a utility company with 19.3 million customers) and the rate of failure is on average one every 10 days. We have a formal letter of complaint from the customer who is prepared to go to 50s if we can prove reliability. This customer runs big chunks of the business under VMS, ie Billing, SCADA, Mail/Messaging, GIS, Supplies systems.... - in total more than 300 VMS systems, so I need to get this sorted. Again, if a reply here not appropriate, please mail me with information or pointer to information. Peter Spreadbury ac mgr | |||||

If your Customer upgrades to batteries dated 1997, I believe that they will see a significant reduction in battery failures. Contact Charles Mpagazehe (Subsys::mpgazehe) for information on the HSJ50. |
