| Hi, Chet,
It is a Prioris Intel HX 5133 DP currently running with WNT 4.0 SP1.
I am not familiar with the firmware and bios, which were came with
the box. Regarding the 4 gig disk firmware and drives, I don't know
neither.
I'll have to check it out tomorrow. By the way, as I am new to it,
can tell me where I can find this info. in the system?
Thanks and regards,
/Jimmy

SYSTEM AND OPTIONS CONFIGURATION GUIDE
The following list contains additional configuration guidelines for the
PRIORIS HX server system.
CPUs
----
Do not mix different frequency CPU chips in a dual processor system.
If you have a 5133 CPU card, the J4 jumper should be installed for
the 2/1 clock setting.
Memory
------
Do not mix standard parity SIMMs with ECC SIMMs.
Remember that the 590 and 590DP have a maximum DRAM capacity
of 512MB of standard parity SIMMs and 256MB of ECC SIMMs.
Expansion Slots
---------------
There are 6 EISA slots available for EISA expansion modules or
adapters and 6 PCI slots available for PCI expansion modules or
adapters.
Storage Space or Slots
----------------------
The enclosure can accommodate two 5.25-inch, 1.6-inch height
SCSI devices above the hot swap bays. These spaces can also be
used as one space for a DLT tape backup drive if the system chassis
is modified. There are seven hot swap bays maximum in each system.
Disk Drives
-----------
There are a number of SCSI hard disk drives available for your servers. They
come alone or in storage building blocks (SBBs), and either narrow (8-bit)
or wide (16-bit). If you are building a RAID solution try to use drives with
similar formatted capacity and rotational speed. This ensures that you get
the maximum performance from your RAID controller. If you are installing 4GB
hard disk drives in the system you MUST add a second fan.
Tape Drives
-----------
If you are adding a DLT series drive to the two 5.25-inch bays
the two metal tabs in the drive bay must be removed. Contact Digital
Service.
CDROM Drives
------------
If you are going to swap out the existing 2X drive with a 4X or simply
are adding a 4X CDROM drive, you have to install the 4X drive in one
of the 5.25-inch bays. The slot for the existing 2X CDROM is a 1-inch
height slot.
Expansion Boxes
---------------
BA3xx series expansion boxes connect to the system at the rear of the
system either at a SCSI adapter or at a bulkhead connector.
Other Storage
-------------
Any other external storage device that will be in a BA3xx expansion
box will connect to the system at the rear of the system either at a
SCSI adapter or at a bulkhead connector.

| Thanks for that, but everything is not there. Is the system able
to be brought down? If so, then you can get the firmware/bios level
for the controller. Also I suspect it's a pre-Rev E controller.
Any firmware with 3.xx is Rev E. and 2.xx is Rev b c or d.
Depending on the rev, you should go to our web site at
http://akin40.ako.dec.com/~FTP/Library/OptionsDrivers/STORAGE/SCSI/CTRL/
PCI/MYLEX/1-05-kit/
if the firmware and bios are not correct. Current is 1.29 bios and 2.39
firmware. The kit also includes the latest NT driver for the Mylex.

| Hi, Chet,
Thanks for the information and your pointer to the kit.
Today I have got the kits. However, we have found trouble
of which one is for upgrade and how . So, finally we have
it done with the utility Dac960fl.exe in Config.exe kit
and found a driver file missing, which you mentioned version
2.39
So, we went to www.mylex.com home page and downloaded the
file. We then ran the utility Dac960fl.exe with the file
and got the firmware upgraded to 1.29 and 2.39 .
Above are what we have done. Is that it all?
Since this upgrade is new to me and it does not have the
detail instructions how it is done. So, I hope I have it
done right and not missing anything else.
Can you please let me know if you see anything I did wrong
or missed above?
Thanks again.
Regards,
/Jimmy
