I have been asked by a customer if our QIC drive (TZK11) conforms to the QIC 02 Standard !!!??? The customer wants to use them on old Intel/Multibus systems that apparantly have an imbeded SCSI port !!!??? I told him he would need to sort out Drivers etc for the QIC device and he didn't se this as a problem as long as it conformed to this 02 Stnd. Any input as to the viability of this would be most welcome. Regards JanZ Storage Sales London (UK)

Are they talking about SCSI-2? Can't imagine why a QIC standard (what's on the tape) matters when connecting to a system. Unless they need to exchange tapes. Guenther | |||||

Yes, the TZK11 follows the QIC standards. I'm not sure what density is defined in QIC02. Do they known the capasity of the tapes they want to read and write ?? Steve P. |
