Hi Folks,
i have some problems in following configration.
On the customer side i have an CDDI-Server with an HS1CP and 6 BA356 shelves.
The CDDI-Server consists of two alpha 1000a server's.
The first 5 shelves ar fully populate with RZ29-VW connected from port
1 to port 5. On this ports all is working very well.
On the 6'th port he is also using an ba356 shelv with two TLZ7-VA.
Intermittend we receive a lot of problems with the tapes.
The revsion of the tapes are 4BQH

I received a lot of timeouts with an VMS backup. But the interresting thing ist,
i have only troubel
wiht tape tape who have the follwing ID (6 4 0). The other tape wiht ID (6 6 0)
is always working fine
without any problems. I have changesd two or three times the tape with no
success. The use both tapes.
He start on different time the backup, so we will not have any timing problems.
The only way to clear the problem is, doing en hard reset on the tape.
Questions:
1.) Is the configuration supported?
2.) Is ist possible to change an parameter, so that the driver have more time to
wait until the tape
is ready with his internal verification. (i.e. bad spot on the tape)
3.) Can it be happend, that the backplane of BA356 is defektive?
4.) Should we use an BA350 shelve?
Any help on this will be graetly appreciated.
