6435.0. "Long Shadow Copy times" by WOTVAX::SPREADBURY () Fri Feb 28 1997 05:16
My customer has 2 x KZPSC RAID controllers in his AlphaServer 4100
system running VMS 6.2-1H3.
He is using RAID 0 on the controllers and host based shadowing
between controllers.
During a shadow copy (system not in use) he is seeing very low
controller I/O loading, very low disk I/O loading and only 4%
CPU usage, yet the copy for a single RZ29 takes up to 6 hours
during which time he is vunerable to complete system failure through
the loss of another drive.
Does anyone have any thoughts about why this is and how we might
look at improving this

IPMT as there is a new SYS$DRDRIVER.EXE that will fix this problem
but is not generally available yet.
