6423.0. "how do I reset a HSZ20 back to deafults?" by SNOFS1::16.153.96.192::powellronald (Australia!) Mon Feb 24 1997 23:21

I am trying to install a 310 subsystem ( 2 towers- master and slave) on a Intel/NT cluster
system. The problem is the RAID sets will not init because the HSZ20 is in an "incompatible
cache mode". There is no error number shown. This error occurs whether I use the CLI, cfmenu
or the windows GUI.
How do I get the HSZ20 to completely reset its config to defaults? , and is this the right
thing to do?

 Thanx
 Ron.

It would be nice to see the actual error. I can't find this error
anywhere in the code...

Sorry for the confusion. The error was saying the raid set could
not be init'd because the cache was in an invalid mode for the
raid system chosen. The reason for this is that the hardware
user guide has got the switch settings totally screwed up in that
they are upside down. Reversing every switch got me out of that
mess with the cache mode, now I have to work out how to get the
?? prompt back ( currently HSZ) and get the OOB manager to run
reliably.
