Customer has 2-2100a systems. Each rackmounted in the same cabinet and
each with a KZPAA connected to its own TSZ07 .He says he sometimes has to
power off a TSZ07 and when he does the (and im not sure of this)
system either hangs or crashes. It will happen on either. So he asked
me if he could get the PN for a "Y" cable to install on end of the KZPAA
and terminate it. He wonders if this would cure this problem.
The cable he has is a BN23G-02. So I guess if the cable is the solution
should it be connected to the BN23G or a seperate one from KZPAA to
TSZ07.
I wounder if its a termination problem or does he need to get the
cable. His config as far as I know is each 2100a has a KZPAA with only
the TSZ07 attached . Each tape drive is terminated on each system.
Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Why does he need to power it off? Is there a problem, or does he move
drives around. And where is termination for the bus. It should be at
the KZPAA and at the other end. Is it on the Tape Drive? What type of
crash does he get? A 'Y' cable is really to provide termination 'off'
a controller so that the scsi bus can be removed from one controller
in a shared SCSI bus while not affecting the other controllers. A 'Y'
cable at the tape drive end (if the tape drive's out port is
terminated) would allow the tape drive to be removed from the bus
and still allow the bus to be terminated. We don't support such hot
swaps while the bus is active. So is he removing power and
disconnecting the cable?
I ask too many questions, don't I?
