Hi, I just got a question on which I could not find an answer on both Altavista search and in here. So here it is. Is TLZ09 supported on MicroVAX II and if yes, what controller is ot be used. Thanks Hans

This combination was not qualified, so not supported. jim | |||||

: Is TLZ09 supported on MicroVAX II and if yes, what controller is ot be : used. The only two possible Digital controller choices for connecting SCSI tapes to the Q-bus are the KZQSA, or the KFQSA and an HSDxx. The KZQSA is not viable, supported, or suitable for use with SCSI magnetic disks -- it works reliably with SCSI CD-ROM and SCSI tapes only... This does not imply support nor successful operation of this config. Personally, I'd replace that MicroVAX II with something a little more current -- that platform does not have a native SCSI adapter. It's also old and slow -- I'd look at a VAX 4000-10x series for a Q-bus upgrade or complete replacement. |
