6363.0. "Raid Advisory Board Classification Program" by SOS6::BERNARD (Bernard Ourghanlian, Alpha Resource Center) Thu Jan 30 1997 09:24
Apparently, the Raid Advisory Board (RAB) has dropped its previous RAID
classification (RAID 0, 1, ...) and has replaced this classification
with new concepts called :
"FAILURE RESISTANT"
"FAILURE TOLERANT"
"DISASTER TOLERANT"
Apparently, the new EMC storage subsystems (Symmetrix ICDA and
Symmetrix Remote Data Facility models) have obtained the highest
level called DTDS+ (Disaster Tolerant Disk System Plus).
Do we intend to get this new RAB classification ?
