Hello;
My customer purchased via J.J. Wild (a Digital reseller) and
item called a CT-EMP10-02. It is basically a dual AS1000 rack-
mounted in a H9A10 cabinet. Each system has 3 KZPSAs. Bus 1 goes
first to a BA356 with a DWZZB-VA set for mid bus operation and
on the single ended side it has devices at target 1,2,3 and 5. The
bus then goes to a BA350 w/ a DWZZA-VA (set for mid bus operation)
and has a TZ87-VA at target 0 on the single ended side. The bus then
goes into a TSZ07-DA (differential 9-TRACK). Initially the cables
from the KZPSA are as follows: BN21K-02, BN21K-02, and finally a
-02 from the last DWZZA to the TSZ07. This works fine. When I insert
a longer cable to move the TSZ07 into another cabinet the disk devices
which are still close to the CPU (via a -02) do not function.
If I disconnect the TSZ07 from the bus and have the DWZZA and TZ87
alone at the far end of the long cable everything is O.K.
I have found a list (in the release notes for the KZPSA) of tested
options, alas the TSZ07 is not among them. Somebody sold it, somebody
built it and somebody shipped it. Who gonna help me make it work???
8*).....
Any ideas?????

Built and qualified by CSS.
P.S. I have acquired their attention and am working it thru them...
Ah the confusion.
P.P.S. I have made the configuration work by converting a differential
TSZ07 to single ended and hanging it off the TZ87s BA350. Only drawback
here is it's $2240.00 per module and $460.00 for my labor times 8
drives. The customer don't dig it. But.... our AS1000 MEDITECH package
smokes the Data General solution by such a large margin in performance
that they find this only a minor problem......in comparison to delays
in system response.
