:Can anyone explaint what the major differences are? WORMS-11 is the FILES-11 format tweaked to run on a write-once device. FILES-11 assumes a rewritable storage media -- adding a new filename entry into an existing directory is just not feasible on WORM drive. See ELWOOD::OPTICAL, among other conferences. (There's an optical storage management software (OSMS) product around, as well... See http://whatsa.shr.dec.com/~specs/optical/RW/OSMS/) |
