Though Bill and I have talked offline regarding this issue, I though I add a note here for all to see. There was an issue within manufacturing wil the cardcage mounting flang shorting out to one of the backplane vias about a year ago. I address this by modifying the flange on the cardcage. This ilimated the possibility of reoccurance due to the cardcage. It is possible the cardcage vendor lost the required purchase spec change (ECO), but I doubt it. This is a completely different problem. It identifies an assembly process issue. Either the gasket material is being installed incorrectly by the backplane manufacturer or is being damaged when the 70-31456 chassis is assembled. I never saw this problem in CXO. Regards, John I |
