5037.7Media Robot Utility T1.2 Field TestNABETH::alanDr. File System's Home for Wayward Inodes.Mon Mar 17 1997 11:0539
	The internal field test of MRU V1.2 is now available. Compressed
	and uncompressed copies of the archive of the kit are on:

		nabeth.cxo.dec.com:StorageWorks/ROBOT120.tar	(not compressed)
		nabeth.cxo.dec.com:StorageWorks/ROBOT120.tar.Z	(compressed)

		           nabeth::StorageWorks/ROBOT120.tar	(DECnet)
			   nabeth::StorageWorks/ROBOT120.tar.Z

	The OpenVMS, and Windows NT for Intel and Alpha Systems versions
	of this kit will be available later this week.

	Features of this version include:

	o Application Programming Interface. Object libraries and
	   include files, and documentation for the interface that
	   we use in the CLI and GUI.

	o Find. A command available in the CLI and GUI to locate
	   a cartridge's location by volume tag.

	o Home. A command available in the CLI and GUI to return
	   a cartridge to its previous location.

	o Position. A command available in the CLI and GUI to position
	   the transport to a specific element.

	o Initialize. A command available in the CLI to send a SCSI
	   Initialize Element Status command to the medium changer.

	o Transport support. Extensions to the CLI interface allowing
	   the Show and Move command to work on transport elements (where
	   supported by the underlying medium changer).

	If you have customers that would be interested in being a field
	test site for any of the versions, please contact Bryan Cox at
	COOKIE::COX.

5037.8OpenVMS and NT kits.NABETH::alanDr. File System's Home for Wayward Inodes.Thu Apr 17 1997 12:5124
The OpenVMS kit for the MRU T1.2 Field Test is available on:

	COOKIE::AIM$PUBLIC:[MRU.V1_2]ROBOT.SAV

The save-set above contains all three installable save-sets,
which are available seperately as:

	COOKIE::AIM$PUBLIC:[MRU.V1_2]ROBOT012.%

This kit has the same features as the Digital UNIX version.
However, the OpenVMS doesn't have help for the API. The
installation puts versions of the examples in SYS$EXAMPLES.
Once we have a help library for the VMS version of the API,
we'll announce it here.

The Windows NT kits are on:

	COOKIE::AIM$PUBLIC:[MRU.V1_2]MRU_V12_ALPHA.ZIP
	COOKIE::AIM$PUBLIC:[MRU.V1_2]MRU_V12_INTEL.ZIP

As with the OpenVMS kit, the API is under-documented, but
necessary include files are present.

5037.9Updated OpenVMS field test kit for T1.2NABETH::alanDr. File System's Home for Wayward Inodes.Fri May 23 1997 17:4213
	A new version of the MRU T1.2 OpenVMS kit is now available
	at the usual place:

		COOKIE::AIM$PUBLIC:[MRU.V1_2.OPENVMS]ROBOT012.%

	The comabined saveset and self-extracting versions of the kit
	have not been updated, so you'll want to copy the savesets
	directly.

	This fixes most of the bugs that were discovered since the
	original T1.2 field test release. The only bug I know of
	that remains is the logical translation bug in the IVP
	command file. I'll get to that next week.
