The Exabyte EXB-8200 drive (SCSI-1) with the current Exabyte firmware revision (no, I don't know what that version number is) works correctly with OpenVMS VAX up through V7.1, and -- with a patched MKDRIVER -- works correctly on that release. (One of the OpenVMS SDK sites encountered this problem with the 7.1 field test -- the MKDRIVER patch is still being tested, and is not yet widely available.)
