Looking for SUBSYS::PUBLIC:[OFFBASE.NOVELL_APP_NOTES.SPINUP]*.*;

Specially the MODE 8 Spinup utility...

Can anyone provide a valid pointer please?
Thanks in advance...

3042.14thanks for MODE8 but think I need more help...BRSTR2::SYSMANDirk Van de moortelFri Feb 28 1997 09:5545
re .13
	Thanks Steve...
	I have MODE8.EXE now but as I expected I have a problem running it:
	Error - Can't open ASPI driver.

	I have the following in C:\ADAP1540:

	        ASPI2DOS.SYS
	        ASPI4DOS.SYS
	        ASPI7DOS.SYS
	        ASPICD.SYS
	        ASPIDISK.SYS
	        ASPIEDOS.SYS

	I have the following line in config.sys:

	        DEVICE=C:\ADAP1540\ASPI4DOS.SYS /D

	Which one do I take? None of them work: they all complain about not
	being able to read the configuration of the card or something although
	the primary (internal) disk on scsi id 0 prefectly boots and the
	CD-drive on scsi id 1 perfectly works.
	The PC is a DECpc lpx 466d2 with an adaptec 1540C.
	The external disks are RZ28M-VA in a BA353.

... in fact ...
what I want to do, is just make some RZ28M-VA's in a BA353 spinup
automatically at power on.
In real life (not on this test machine I found to run MODE8.EXE), the BA353
is connected to a PC (running WIN95) with a TRANTOR MiniSCSI plus APA-348 on
the parallel port (as there is no room for an internal SCSI-card).
The driver for the cable is provided by win95 and installed but the disks are
not seen by WIN95. So I was thinking, if I could make them spinup by
themselves, maybe win95 would see them?

Or am I wrong there?

What I want is being able to 'walk around' between some PC's without a SCSI-
card with the BA353 and its RZ28M-VA's and the Trantor cable...

Can anyone provide some advise on how I should proceed?
Thanks in advance...
