Hi According to S.O.C (7 Apr 1997 edition) CIPCA-BA (PCI to CI) card is supported under OPENVMS V6.2-1H3. But according to CIPCA Installation Guide (EK-CIPCA_UG.C01 March 1997) only CIPCA-AA supported under V6.2-H2 and above but CIPCA-BA supported under V7.1 and higher. Which is correct???? Could someone help me on this. Many Thanks

CIPCA-BA requires V6.2-1H3, or V7.1 or later. Alan Goldman is the CIPCA Product Manager. There are other processor-specific OpenVMS requirements, as well as per-platform PCI-PCI (-BA) and PCI-EISA (-AA) restrictions. | |||||

OOPS!! The CIPCA UG is wrong. See note 4871.7 for the CIPCA-BA sales update article that also has a table of the expanded CIPCA configurations supported under both V6.1-1H3 & V7.1... Basicly, -BAs are the same PCI port module & firmware with a PCI relayout of the EISA CI link module that only needs pwr & ground from the host slot. Neither the PCI or EISA link are visable on the bus, they just consume a slot. Verell |
