5296.0. "shadowing data thro' two controllers" by HGOVC::BVISHWAS () Thu Apr 24 1997 07:11

    This question may have been asked in the previous notes (5277.* &
    5292.*), excuse me for repeating it. I am asking the same perhaps
    but pictorially.

    In this config. shadow copy of data will be written thro' differant
    CIXCD of a single system (eg System A) to both disk arrays A&B.
    Basically we are shadowing the data thro' seperate controllers
    & not thro' network.

    IS THE ABOVE CONFIG. VALID?

    Appreciate immediate response.

    Thanks

5296.1Valid Config on Recent OpenVMS VMSclusters...XDELTA::HOFFMANSteve, OpenVMS EngineeringThu Apr 24 1997 11:2011

: IS THE ABOVE CONFIG. VALID?

   Yes, entirely valid. (I will assume the disks planned for each
   shadowset meet the requirement for identical geometry...)

:    Appreciate immediate response.

   Notes is not an appropriate mechanism for immediate responses.
