5292.0. "DUAL REDUNDANT HSJ'S SAME CI NODE NUMBER" by IB001::JAGOMEZ (JOSE ANTONIO GOMEZ @SQO) Tue Apr 22 1997 08:29
CROSS-POSTED IN HSJ40 AND CLUSTER CONFERENCES
Hi all,
I'd like to know if this configuration could give some
problem and if it's supported:
Two HSJ's in dual redundant configuration, connected to
two different Star Couplers and with the same CI node
number in the same cluster. Of course, each host in the
cluster has two CI interfaces, each one to one S.C.
I think it's a valid configuration, but I'd like to be
sure...
Thanks in advance,
Jose A. Gomez

| The ci node numbers used on one star are independant of the other star.
This means that you are able to assign the same number formatching
devices on each star. Both adapters in each system and both parts of a
dual redundant HSJ pair can have the same number. I also believe VMS
supports dual redundant pairs to be attached to two stars.
