I have a customer who has now seen the following problem three times in the
last few years.

VMS/VAX V6.2
VAXSHAD02_062
VAXDRIV04_070

The cluster consists of 13 CI nodes (7 6000/7000, 2 HSC70's and 4
HJS0's) and 3 NI nodes.

All new session to the cluster hung and half the CI systems hung up because 
the shadowset containing the SYSUAF file (all systems) and pagefiles (half 
the CI systems) went into mount verification. This shadowset (DSA2) consists 
of two RZ28 ($1$DUA35, $1$DUA45) disks connected to a pair of HSJ40's.

The sequence of events appears to be this.
- The customer shutdown an LAVC node
- All nodes report that $1$DUA45 is an incorrect shadowset member
_ The system removed $1$DUA45 from the DSA2 shadowset
- All nodes report that $1$DUA35 is an incorrect shadowset member
- DSA2 is in a mount verify state while $1$DUA35 looks normal.

Are there any known problems in this area?

	Suggest you install "Redhawk" or VAXCOMPAT_062 as well as any patches to it (think there was a VAXCLUSIO patch). Shadowing was entirely reworked for V7.1 and this was made available for V6.2 in "Redhawk". Install the patch (or Alpha equivalent) on all systems. A lot has happened since VAXSHAD02_062 came out.

	Actually, the COMPAT_062 (Redhawk) kit is superceeded by the ALPCLUSIO01_062 and VAXCLUSIO_062 (Son of Redhawk :-). There is no need to install both.. This kit includes the new overhauled SHDRIVER for Shadowing.... Cheers, jeff

	Thanks for your responses. The VAXCLUSIO01_062 release notes list a few known problem which are to be fixed in the next patch kit. Do you have a timeframe on when this will be available? Cheers, Geoff..
