Hi! This is a continuation of entry 5282 of some sort. The AS8400 (V6.2) and AS4100 (V6.2-1h3) have been clustered thru the FDDI. But having no common disk to act as quorum (AS8400 is connected to a star coupler with HSJ40 while AS4100 has local disks through the KZPSC controllers), I have set the votes for AS8400=2 and AS4100=1 with expected votes=2. The disks are all sharable on both systems and so far has not encountered any cluster-related problem except for a minor item that I noticed today. The errors on PEA0 is increasing very rapidly and checking the error logfile thru ANA/ERR, I found 'INVALID CLUSTER PASSWORD' for PEA0 from node SMART1 and SMART2. The 2 Alphas are clustered thru FDDI but are also available in the LAN where there is another cluster composed of 2 VAXes. The AS8400 is node SMART while the AS4100 is SMART3. The VAXes have SMART1 and SMART2 as nodenames. I just found out that the 2 clusters have the same cluster group number=1. The error is causing a depletion of the disk space in the system disk. Any ideas? Thanks! Noel Gesmundo MCS/Digital Philippines

Each cluster should have a different cluster id and cluster password. Check the cluster id by using the SYSMAN. Joe | |||||

Joe, Thanks. We rebooted the VAX cluster after changing the group id and no more errors were added to the PEA0 device. Noel |
