This note is to announce that revision V1.5 Memory Channel adapters (CCMAA-BA)
are now supported by V7.1.
The V7.1 Release Notes state that only V1.0 adapters (CCMAA-AA) are supported,
and that V1.5 modules will be supported in March/April with the aid of a patch
kit.
It turns out that at patch kit is not required, and that V1.5 modules work
just fine with standard V7.1. (However, a patch kit that fixes several minor
problems will be made available sometime around March/April, but it's no
longer related to V1.5 support.)
V1.5 modules can be almost twice as fast as V1.0 modules. How much faster
depends greatly on the processor type (they are much faster in 4100s,
almost the same speed in old 2100s).
I'm currently figuring out how to get this information out to a wider audience,
but this note is a start.
