Hi,
I have the following setup at customer site :

The SCO server is located at Lan 1 and there are 24 workstations
located at Lan 1 and 36 workstations located at Lan 2. There are
network setup change for both Lan segments. Prior to the changed,
the bridge is configure at IP route and NBNS is used at all the
workstations. With this configuration, the PC local print is working.
The bridge have changed to "pure bridge" configuration to allows all
protocol to go through. "NBNS" have been changed to "NETBIOS" and it
works for SMB shared drive as well as SMB printer.
When the problem arise, we have tried to setup "NBNS" on both side of
the Lans but the results is still the same.
The PC local print for Lan 1 is working fine. The problem happened
at workstations located at Lan 2. For example, PC117 is located at
Lan 2 and a print job is initiated. From the server, lpstat shows
that the print job is queueing and the status for the PCP printer
is "printer fault waiting for auto-retry". PC129 which is located at
Lan 1 do not have this problem.
The command "lpstat -t" shows that there are dial token for "PCP1" to
"PCP9". What is dial token? For "PCP1" to "PCP5" which are located at
Lan 2, PC local print cannot work. For "PCP6" to "PCP9" which are
located at Lan 1, PC local print works fine.
The following are the trace capture for PC117 and PC129. From the
trace for PC129, frame 207, it shows "DNS" frame have been sent.
What is this "DNS" frame? The "DNS" frame does not appear in the
trace for PC117.
Hope somone can help to look into the problem as it affect customer
operation. The PC local print is 6.0.3 and TCP for DOS 6.1.1. Details
trace at zpovc::pcp.117 and pcp.129.

The trace is not complete. You only traced the direct addressed frames and not the broadcast
frames.
When you also trace the broadcast frames you will see that the SCO server does a DNS(Domain name
server) request with the name of the local printer on PC117. For some reason this request is not
answered by PC117(Not passing the bridge??). You should check this broadcast frame and find out
why it is not passing the bridge
