    how do i get fprintf(stdout, "hello world\n"); to work ?
    this is a console application (though I am  not  using
    the IDE (straight make with win32.mak).  when i get to
    the fprintf I get an access  violation.  if  i  change
    the fprintf to a printf it works just fine,  same with
    stderr.
