    	Thanks for the note, Paul.  Glad to know I'm not the only soul who
    bewails Microsoft's vagaries.  ;-)  You're probably right about the
    reason.


    	This particular problem really got to me, because I added some code
    which was cool with the first scenario but not the second.  I didn't
    think to check the second case because I'd never heard about it.


    	It's times like these I miss the totally complete docs we had with
    VMS.  To program adequately on MS's OS's, you need the online docs,
    several books and magazines, and lots of folks reading and writing in
    these notesfiles.  How on earth did MS get so big?  PC users have VERY
    low standards.
