| Hello John, Dave,
Having been raised active in trying to strengthen the acceptance of
evolution (I was then an athiest), I experienced God's grace and became
a disciple of Jesus. I had been involved in this theory from my youth.
At the age of 14 I won the First place grand prize in the bay area
science fair in the research of the effects of drugs on chromosomes
(1968). My father, a microbiologist, helped me im my research.
To make things short, after my experience with Jesus I was still
convinced of evolution, yet I chose to believe the bible more than that
which I had been taught my whole life. Otherwise I could have never
become a disciple of Jesus.
Jesus told us that we would be led by the Holy Spirit into all truth.
Not only did the Holy Spirit fill my life, give me gifts, help me in my
understanding of the Bible, but the Holy Spirit also exposed the many
layers of lies whereby I and the majority of people in the world are
deceived. My belief in Evolution was broken by the light of the Holy
Spirit, the Spirit of truth.
I have written a paper of about 50 pages where I talk about many of
the lies which only after time were clear to me.
I can still remember being in a biology class and talking about
mutations. I was talking to the teacher. We were both convinced that
the theory was true. And yet, as we talked about mutations, it was
clear to both of us that they were fully incapable of creating the
fullness of life which we see. Just as a person shooting bullets into a
computer program and hoping something better would result from this, so
was the futility of randomly developing chromosomes. And yet that was
my area of research!
Back then I chose to believe it was possible, not because it was
logical to believe something like this, but rather because I was
convinced there was no God, and therefore there was no other answer to
the origin of life which seemed at all realistic in view of the
scientific knowledge accumulated. After choosing to believe this, which
was absurd and against all reason, I learned that I could reconcile
anything facts to somehow fit into the theory of evolution. But
everything became more theoretical and abstract. This is the road much
of the scientific world has taken and it has come, not from men like
Isaac Newton, but rather theorists, who need nothing truly scientific
as evidence to begin a new theory. But let us be aware, a theory can
only be as strong as the different hypotheses on which it is based.
Today, most people who believe the theory of evolution are not even
aware of the hypotheses on which the theory is based.
1. Did life evolve out of matter? Even if every molecule of a cell were
to be placed exactly where it were needed, the greatest achievement
non-living matter could ever reach would be that of a dead cell.
2. Does Nature teach us, that the development of new genes (additional
chromosomal 'programing code'), which is at the basis of the theory of
evolution, are happening, and at such a rate, that the fullness of
living organisms we see today resulted from them?
3. Can we see throughout the fossil record these intermediate steps of
development?
To each of these and many more hypotheses we can give a 'yes' only if
we do that which I had done for so long, try to fit everything into
this theory. But if you let the results of observance and scientific
research mould your belief, instead of doing the opposite, you will
have a completely different picture of reality as the evolutionists are
telling us.
You don't need to belong to those involved in Creation Research to
realise that most of the theories which rob today's scientists of much
of their time and cause them to become narrow visioned are based on
speculation, but are not scientific discoveries.
From personal experience, when you believe a lie, the truth appears to
be lie, and the lie appears to be the truth. Through evolution I
despised christianity in my heart and believed it to be lies, made to
give people hope where I khew (so I thought) there was no hope.
Evolution is the religion of the athiest of today. It is his God, by
which all things were created. And if you believe in this God, you will
find that you will doubt the true God and his words more and more,
unless, of course, by divine intervention, the Holy Spirit reveals the
lies.
Yet as Paul says, we know that the whole world lies in the lap of the
devil and has blinded the eyes of those who do not believe the gospel
of salvation. And, as we all know, our adversary is the father of lies
and, being in nature as a snake, named the devil (diablos, two tongued)
has deceived the whole world. Let us fight the fight of faith, that he
be overcome!
And he was cast down, the great dragon, the old snake, named the devel
and satan and who had deceived the whole world... And they overcame him
by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony, and they
loved not their lives unto death. Rev.12:9-11
