Hi, DECEDI V2.1D I have a customer that has a lot of fbr maps that set context to "heading" for the first map. The first map is used mostly for constant data except for some data from an N1 segment. The document is an 850 and the third map sets context to the BEG which starts the mapping of the document data. This worked ok until recently when they receive an 850 that caused the IMF to loop until it rn out of quota. The fix for this was to apply the latest IMF for 2.1D which fixes the looping problem. However it requires removing the set context reference to "heading" or the map fails with: AXP001$ @trade_fetch %DECEDI-W-NOMAPOUTPUT, Map produced no output I told the customer that the mapping reference manual says set context must be to a single unqualified record or segment name. This is ok except that with the set context to "heading" the mapper successfully pulls the document from DECEDI and it goes purgeable. The result is the mapper exits with "%DECEDI-W-NOMAPOUTPUT" and the document is essentially lost(does not fail in DECEDI and is not mapped either). With the number of maps they have they need to be able to tell in their trade fetch procedures whether the mapper exit message "%DECEDI-W-NOMAPOUTPUT" indicates there were no documents to be fetched or it was the result of a problem with set context so they will know document data was lost. My questions are am I correct in that it is not permissable to set context to "heading" and if so should not the mapper give a more meaningful exit status than "%DECEDI-W-NOMAPOUTPUT" that would indicate some data was lost? Any ideas for workarounds appreciated. Thanks, Bill

Bill, who is the customer? Digital? A patch is under development. They can delete the references to 'heading' etc. as a workaround. Mark

Mark, Customer is KAMAN. They are reluctant to delete the references to "heading" for fear of other problems since these maps were all written by Digital and have been working for sometime. Without deleting the references to "heading" they can't install the latest patch on their production system for fear of losing documents since the only error they would get is the "map produced no output" message. Any estimate as to when the patch will be available? This wasn't a problem until they received a document that failed because they didn't have the latest decedi$imf image. Thanks, Bill

Bill, I thought that I did send mail about this - the patch was available yesterday! Mark |
