Hi, Customer running DEC/EDI V3.1A (UNIX) with Oracle V7.2.3 reported the following strange problem. One specific trade post command intermittently fails with the error message decedi__input_open_error, error opening input file ..... To be more specific. If the customer issues exactly the same trade post command (same inputfile, same mapperfile) 10 times than he receives 50% of the time the above error message. The debug, io and error logfiles don't give more information. Am I correct in assuming that this behaviour points to a problem with the file or the filesystem ? Thanks, Martin

Martin, Is the problem associated with the posting attempts being made very rapidly? Are the attempts in parallel? Are there multiple OBB servers active? Perhaps running under different accounts? M | |||||

Hi Mark, >> Is the problem associated with the posting attempts being made very >> rapidly? Well, it's done via command recall (<esc>-). As soon as post command #1 is ready the following post command is issued. >> Are the attempts in parallel? No, in serial >> Are there multiple OBB servers active? Yes >> Perhaps running under different accounts? No, all OBB server are running under the decedi account. Martin |
