3067.0. "OFTP Incoming Access Filter" by GENIE::MUNT () Thu Mar 20 1997 07:53

    The OFTP Gateway (DEC/EDI V2.1D Alpha) creates an Access Filter for
    Incoming calls. When is the filter created? Sometimes the filter is there
    after starting DEC/EDI, sometimes not.

    Thanks

    David,

    The OFTP gateway seems to start OK but I don't see the filter.

3067.3What's the filter?METSYS::NELSONDavid, http://samedi.reo.dec.com/Thu Mar 20 1997 13:193

    	What filter where you expecting? The one defined
    	in EDIT PARAMETERS (i.e., the incoming DTE address)?
3067.4no incoming DTE definedGENIE::MUNTThu Mar 20 1997 14:474
    Yes but maybe I'm worrying about nothing - no Incoming DTE defined =>
    no filter ???

    Please read the help text for the `Incoming DTE Address' field
    in the OFTP EDIT PARAMETER screen.

    On startup, the gateway creates a mailbox and tells X.25 that if
    any incoming calls are for the DTE defined in the Parameter Details
    `Incoming DTE Address' field, then let me know about it.

    I don't believe X.25 Filters, as such, can be used with the
    OpenVMS DEC/EDI V2 product.

    With DEC/EDI V3 (UNIX), X.25 filters must be used with the
    OFTP gateway. BTW, X.25 Templates can be used to make outgoing
    calls.
