Hi ! In conjunction with a pre-sale task for a customer we got a question about designing the HW for a quite big EDI-enviroment. The question is: Does the DEC/EDI Server V3.1-A support multi processors (=CPUs) ? I did not find any answer to this question. Does anybody know if and how the DEC/EDI Server supports multiple alpha processors (=CPUs) ? Thanks in advance ! Kind regards, Rune Flader, DEC DK

Hi, You can be pretty sure that DEC/EDI has done nothing to support multi-processor CPU systems. However - a more appropriate questions is 'do UNIX applications in general' support multi-cpu. It is very unusual for an application to care about such low level details, I would expect that to be taken care of by the OS. Mark

FYI: One of out machines (LETISS) is a dual CPU machine (or was when we first got it), and DEC/EDI has no problems running on it.
