    Howdy,
    
    I just had a customer ask if the 3.1 application clients were
    compatible with a 2.1* server.  I've heard in certain cases they are,
    but am unsure if this is generally true.  Will all available 3.1
    clients work with a 2.1* server?

    3.1A and 2.1D clients will only work with 3.1A and 2.1D servers.
    
    2.1A-2.1C,3.0 & 3.1 clients will work with 2.1A (and above, incl 3.0, 3.1) 
    i.e. When ObjectBroker was added.
    
    2.1-2.1C clients and 3.0 clients using ACAS will work with 2.1-2.1C
    servers and 3.0 servers.
