Greetings, A bit of a big ask... Customer running EDI V2.1 on Vax is sending out documents to a fax gateway which acknowledges back with a clear text acknowledgement that document has been recieved. Of course this does not "acknowledge" message to EDI. A request from the Customer has been made to see if there is a way of dynamically inserting in the header of the acknowledgement some data that will allow the cancellation of the sent status... Any thoughts, suggestions.. Thanks, David R

Hi, There's nothing that you could put into the header. However there is some code lurking there that was meant to assist those writing their own CONTRL message systems. I think Marko Einamo has some code that does this. If the customer was able to make the ack look like an EDIFACT CONTRL you may be able to take advantage of that. Mark |
