| There are some we know about a little over here in France and
EDISERVER is a pretty robust one (server category).
AMTRIX from FRONTEK(Sweden) is fashionable over here too.
Regards,
Jean-marie

| Mark,
nothing.
A customer asked for this info. not specific to EDI, but the
availability of third party software on Digital Unix.
EDI packages was taken as an example.
btw, this customer is a happy DECEDI customer on VMS.

3000.5 | well I could mention a few things... | COPCLU::FINN | | Wed Feb 12 1997 07:36 | 34 |
| Mark,
Well, I could mention a few things...:
1) Its (partly) not possible to order the product as the following
numbers are not in our systems:
QL-5HGA*-AA DEC/EDI Internet SMTP/MIME package
QL-5HDAJ-AA DEC/EDI Application Client for Sun Solaris
QL-4LNAA-H8 DEC/EDI CommandCenter Media
2) The decedi_config script gives syntax errors if you try to configure
a database on a fresh system
3) Application Batching are not working as it should
4) The X.400 gateway still only supports 7 bits characters
5) Still no sign of support of EDIFACT Controle
6) The decedi_config backup/restore functions does not always work...
7) If maximizing the summary windows within cockpit you normally gets
stuck..
8) The functionality around EDIFACT UNOC:3 handling is NOT to be proud
of
9) The complexity and numbers of combined ObjectBroker and DEC/EDI
issues are amazing...
But Mark as you know, I still loves our favorite EDI package on UNIX
and still gets lots of new customers to buy it!

3000.6 | CONTRL support is coming | METSYS::NELSON | David, http://samedi.reo.dec.com/ | Wed Feb 12 1997 08:10 | 15 |

Are you saying this is true for the PEDI Gateway as well?
I'm not aware of this requirement. Please inform Graham
(EDIENG::)Helliar so we can add it to a requirements list
he maintains.
> 5) Still no sign of support of EDIFACT Controle
Support of the CONTRL message is currently being implemented
for DEC/EDI V3.2 on both UNIX and OpenVMS.
Please let me know if you have any questions concerning our
support of the CONTRL message in DEC/EDI.

Finn,
Klap the horse!
P.S. For those of you who can't speak FINNish, it means "take it easy"!

3000.9 | U.S. Vendors | SCASS1::HARRISON | Systems Integration - EDI | Thu Feb 13 1997 03:55 | 7 |
| GJ,
I believe all of the bigger U.S. vendors have either ported or will
port to Alpha. This includes Sterling, GEIS, and Harbinger. I'm not
100% sure though.
